Maybe Tonight is a private journal for adults to record the outcomes of requests for intimacy. We aim to collect as little information as possible. You decide whether to join the anonymous leaderboard.
What we process
- Anonymous identity and username: On the app's first connection, a random credential and username are created. You can change your public username. The server stores a hash of the credential, your username, and the session expiration date. We do not require your name, phone number, or email address.
- Private entries: Dates, yes or declined outcomes, and any optional notes you choose to save.
- Leaderboard preference: Whether you have chosen to take part in the anonymous leaderboard.
- Necessary technical information: The server briefly processes IP addresses for security rate limiting. Routine access logging is disabled for this domain. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or external fonts.
How we use your data
We use data only to save and retrieve your entries, calculate your personal statistics, provide the anonymous leaderboard if you choose to join, and keep the service secure and troubleshoot problems. We do not sell data, use your entries for advertising, or send requests, outcomes, or notifications to your partner.
What the leaderboard makes public
You are not included by default. If you join, other people can see your username, total days for the selected period, and rank. The leaderboard does not show individual entry dates, notes, internal account identifiers, or partner information. Do not put your real name, contact details, or other identifying information in your username. Leaving removes you from subsequent leaderboard results; it cannot recall screenshots that other people have already saved.
Storage, security, and limitations
Data travels over HTTPS and is stored in a server database with restricted access. Your session credential is stored in the system's network storage. It is valid for up to one year and may be renewed during use. Entries remain until you delete them or delete your account in the app.
This service is not end-to-end encrypted. Server administrators can access the database when necessary. Do not put names, contact details, medical information, or other personally identifying details in notes. There is currently no recovery if you clear app data, change devices, or lose your anonymous credential.
Your choices
- Join or leave the leaderboard at any time in the app.
- View, edit, or delete individual daily entries.
- The authenticated API supports a JSON copy of your personal entries. The current iOS app does not have an export button.
- Permanently delete your anonymous identity and all its associated entries in the app.
Adults only
The app is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not intended for minors and must not be used to record or share sexual information involving minors.
Changes and questions
If the way we process data changes materially, we will update this page's effective date and, when appropriate, explain the change in the app. For help with the app or privacy questions, see the support page.
